Manager a Tempo: contract, cost per month, how it works
Manager a tempo is the plain Italian phrase for hiring an executive for a limited period rather than permanently. It covers the same ground as temporary management, but the question behind it is usually practical: how is it contracted, and what does it cost per month.
How the contract is normally structured
The client signs a service contract with the manager's company. It states the mandate, the objectives, the day rate or monthly fee, the number of days per week, the notice period, and the confidentiality terms. Where the manager takes a formal governance role, a separate board resolution grants the delegated powers. Keeping the two documents separate is deliberate: the commercial terms stay private, the powers are public.
What it costs per month
Compared with a permanent hire
A permanent dirigente at the same level costs 140.000 to 250.000 euro per year plus contributions, TFR, and the cost of removing them if it does not work. A fixed-term manager costs more per day and less in total, because the engagement ends when the problem is solved and there is no exit liability.
How the mandate ends
- A written handover document covering decisions, risks, and open items
- A named successor, either promoted internally or hired during the mandate
- A final board session on what changed and what still needs attention
- An optional advisory day per month for three months after the exit
